Temple Quarter Horses
Welcome to Temple Quarter Horse Ranch! We are located in the Wallowa Mountains in Northeast Oregon -- one of the most beautiful places on earth, and a great place to raise horses.
We have been breeding and raising Quarter Horses here on the ranch for 40 years, with an emphasis on ranch and arena horses with plenty of athletic ability, speed, and cow sense. Our horses range out in the hills most of the year in rugged, rocky terrain, where they develop strong feet and legs, and good balance. No pushed horses here; our colts grow up naturally, for years of usability.
We use our horses both in the mountains chasing cattle, and in the arena as team roping horses. Our stallions, and most of our broodmares as well, have proven themselves in these areas. The horses' bloodlines are a mixture of working and running horses, and often we have raised the horses in the second and even third generation right here on the ranch. Many of our horses will qualify with the National Foundation Quarter Horse Registry-- but don't expect 14 hand bulldogs -- most of our colts mature between 15 and 16 hands with muscle and speed.

This mare was starting to go to some jackpots as a heel horse, but took a year off to raise a foal. She will go back to the arena in 2011.

This gelding is well started and responds well to your legs and reins. He has been used outside, been branded on, roped the burros and had steers run off him. He is doing well in the roping arena but just needs some more experience.

This filly is friendly and has lots of potential. She is a full sister to my stallion and two other geldings I have been riding. She has 5 rides and is very laid back with no spook or buck. She has the athletic ability and disposition and just needs time. She cut a foot as a yearling and has a scar but no lameness issues.

Gizmo is a friendly gelding. He has a little over 30 days training and is very nice to work with. We have roped the burro drug a dummy as well as riding in the arena and outside. We have had a lot of success with this bloodline and currently are standing his full brother as a stallion and competing on him as a head and heel horse.
